Chatting with Gabby | Friendships are hard

My granddaughter started writing her blog when COVID began while she was confined.

I only just found out a few days ago when her mother sent some of her blogs to me.

After reading them, I asked Gabby if I could share some of her writings with others.

Here is the next blog post in her series.

Welcome to "Chatting with Gabby," where we delve into the compelling stories and experiences that shape the lives of young individuals navigating the challenges of the modern world. In today's blog post, we will explore the profound impact of remote learning on students in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the heartfelt reflections of Gabriella Patrick, a resilient student navigating the uncharted territories of virtual education, we gain insights into the struggles, emotions, and unexpected discoveries that have defined this transformative period in education.

Friendships are Hard

From a 9th grade Student

Friendships are Hard

Friendships are a crucial part of our lives. They provide us with support, laughter, and a sense of belonging. However, maintaining friendships can be difficult, and the fear of losing them can be overwhelming.

For some, the transition from middle school to high school can be particularly challenging. This was the case for me. I was undoubtedly afraid that my friends would leave me. The tears I shed during my transition to middle school made it clear that relationships are not easy to maintain. The same process repeated when I transitioned from middle to high school.

Covid made it even more difficult to maintain relationships. The virtual setting made it harder to connect with friends, and the underlying fear of losing them only grew stronger. The truth is, friendships require effort and commitment. It is important to check in with your friends, keep in touch, and make time for them.

Despite the challenges, it is important to remember that friendships are worth it. They provide us with happiness, support, and a sense of belonging. So, if you're feeling afraid that your friends will leave you, know that you're not alone. It's a common fear, but with effort and commitment, you can maintain the friendships that mean the most to you.

Gabby's journey through remote learning has not only been an inspiration to countless students but also a testament to the strength and resilience found within us all. As a coach dedicated to empowering individuals in executive and leadership positions, I invite women who have navigated their own challenges to connect with Gabby's story. Her unwavering determination and invaluable insights offer a unique perspective that resonates with the experiences of women who have thrived amidst adversity. Together, let us forge a path of growth, support, and mentorship, harnessing our collective strength to create a world where every woman's voice is heard, acknowledged, and celebrated in the realm of leadership.

By the way, Gabby will be starting her senior year in high school this Fall and I am a very proud grandmother.
